Shot in 168 locations for 116 days, the trailers have created hug curiosity. Whether Adivi Sesh's "Goodachari" lives up to the buzz or not, let's check out.

Story:
Arjun (Adivi Sesh) gets recruited into a spy organization after  repeated applying for the job. He is inducted into Trinetra, a secret service bureau that recruits him for a mission. He soon becomes an agent.

On the very first day as an agent, a minister gets killed, his girlfriend (Sobhita) is killed and all fingers point out that he’s behind this.

He is on the run to find out who the mole in Trinetra is and who actually killed his father in his childhood. As he goes on the mission, many secrets come out.

Artistes’ Performances:
Adivi Sesh has the physique required for an agent and he’s believable in the role. Such characters don’t have much scope for performance.

Prakash Raj as his uncle is terrific. He gets lengthy role and his performance like always is an added bonus to the movie.

The film’s all-important role is played by a well-known Tollywood actor and this is quite a surprise and he gives the best performance, it is unlike anything he’s played so far in his career.

Vennela Kishore as agent is good. Supriya Yarlagadda as Nadiya Qureshi, a deputy director in the agency, is pitch perfect.

Beauty pageant winner Sobhita Dhulipala is beautiful and she is good as female lead. Madhu Shalini in a guest role pulls off the role well.

Technical Excellence:
The film’s subject requires massive money, but the team has made the movie with modest budget. Despite budget constraints, it boasts ofhigh quality visuals.

The cinematography is top-class. Shaneil Deo has captured the mood well for this action spy thriller with his camera.

Sri Charan Pakala’s background score has elevated the tense mood. Art work is excellent. Editing is racy. Dialogues are neat.

Highlights:
Twists and turns
Visuals, action setups
Terrific interval bang
The surprising villain

Drawback:
Initial portions
Hollywood inspiration

Analysis:
After winning high praise for “Kshanam”, Adivi Sesh has written a spy thriller. Based on his script, new director Sasikiran Tikka has made this movie in taut, racy and engaging way.

“Goodachari” is the kind of spy thriller, that Mahesh Babu’s “Spyder” could not become. It has right mix of action, spying activities and emotional anchor.

“Goodachari” begins with a shootout at a hilly region in Sikkim, in which an officer is killed and his colleague and relative (played by Prakash Raj) takes his kid to Rajamundry to raise him far away from the army/secret service.

He changes his real identity and also changes his father’s name and he starts becoming dad for him for the outside world.

After setting up the theme that Arjun is now entering into India’s secret service much like his real father to take revenge on terrorist organization Al Mujahuddin, the screenplay starts unravelling many surprises. Not many would guess the real twist in the film that happens in the second half.

Actor-writer Adivi Sesh has added perfect emotional angle to a spy thriller that runs like Hollywood spy movies.

The way hero falls for a beauty who actually hides her identity, the way hero is tested by the Trientra agency and its operations are clear replica of many spy movies.

But “Goodachari” is not just about these, it has much more and offers some surprises and it has got emotions right for an action thriller.

The best scenes are….

Revealing moment of who is planning attacks on Arjun
Arjun coming to know the identity of the guy who is in the background in Bangladesh
The final confrontation between Arjun, Prakash Raj and the villain
The clock-fight sequence

The film’s story happens in various locations – Hyderabad, Rajamundry, Kolkota, Bangaladesh, Sikkim, etc. Despite tight budget, new director Sashi Kiran Tikka frames in a way that it looks rich and grand.

The film doesn’t rely on action stunts, but on ‘surprises’ and action in the story to keep audiences engaged. It is mostly like unravelling the true identity of various characters who have hidden secrets.

While the agency’s job is to infiltrate into the terrorists to get information, the terrorists also get access into the agency. How the moles are exposed is neatly done in typical style of Hollywood movies.

On the downside, the romantic thread on Adivi Sesh and Sobhita hardly impresses. The attack episode on a minister is not filmed rightly. Also, the film is a way bit lengthy in the first half.

On the whole, after “Kshanam”, Adivi Sesh follows up with another thriller proving that he has exceptional writing talent (clearly inspired by some Hollywood movies) in screenplays.

“Goodachari” is a well-made spy thriller with right mix of suspense, action, and emotion.

Bottom-line: Spy Games
