Story:
Rahul (Rishi) is a man who starts a consultancy business called ‘Dymanic Dreams’. His business is to show way for people to fulfill their dreams, be it any field viz films or politics. But he carries no values and ethics in his life and business. He flirts with several women; he betrays his wife and also deceives his clients.

One day he happens to go to a phone booth. He talks to someone and keeps the receiver on cradle. Then the phone rings. Rahul picks up the call. He hears an unusual voice that holds command on him. The voice knows everything about Rahul. Initially Rahul mocks at the person. But things go serious. The eerie person talks to Rahul from a very long place seeing him through a telescope. His demand is to continue talking or otherwise he would shoot him to death then and there.

The person pumps in fear to Rahul, he takes Rahul’s brain in his control with his commands. He starts making him confess from the phone booth itself. How he takes confession? What for he takes that confession? How the conversation between Rahul and the eerie person becomes national news. How it pulls police and black cat commandos to the place? How and why Rahul lets out every secret of his life openly to public in the name of confession? What is the conversation that washes the heart and brain of Rahul? And who is that stranger? To know all these watch the film.

Performances:
The scope for performance is very little for almost everyone except Rishi. He did well in his role. Female characters have little to perform and they simply made their presence felt. Shreya Jha is indeed ok in pathos in climax scene. There is subtle humor in Brahmaji’s character in lighter dose. Comedy by Srinivas Reddy and Chitram Sreenu didn’t gel well with the tempo.

Music by Sunil Kahsyap is up to the mark. A couple of songs are really haunting with the quality in them. Background score is also good but Jodha Akbar tune is copied in a scene.

The film is a free-make from Hollywood flick ‘Phone Booth’. Director Surya Teja did well up to the phone booth scenes but he missed several logics in other extra-peripheral content.

For example:

  • How the girl Geeta runs out from Court during the judgment and dies crushing under a vehicle? Don’t the policemen stop her? Or at least try to stop her?
  • Why the killer ignores line-man who tries to tap his number while he notices each and every aspect and person around Rahul (Rishi) during conversation?
  • Why Rishi appears with beard for some time and shaven look for other time during the phone booth scene that lasts for about 1 hr?

Such logics are missing in the film.

Director would have worked on such things meticulously as the audiences those like the films of this sort will be shrewd and keen.

Analysis:
It’s not a routine film. There is ample variety in it. And majority audiences can connect themselves with the character of Rishi. It’s a confession-film, to sum up.

For the people those haven’t seen ‘Phone Booth’, it will be a thrilling treat. The length of the film is less than 2 hours. But the film runs in single location for about 1 hour and that too, in a phone booth. It is really a challenge to continue interest levels of audiences for such a long time with single scene. Director proved successful in that aspect. And the strange voice of a very well known actor used during confession added depth to that long scene.

On the flip side, the film sounds boring for the first 30 minutes. The real interest picks up when Rishi traps in the phone booth. The scene continues till the climax. Interval twist is good and the second half holds better interest for audiences.

On a whole, the film is for the audiences those wish to watch something different from routine. But still 20% of the film in the beginning is not dished out well. The film has saving grace as the second half is made interesting and closing graph is sloped up. Lack of proper publicity and awareness campaigning is a minus for the film. The film needs to cover up there. The film is made in shoe string budget and hence it is very easy to recover provided the publicity adds to it. Producer has to be appreciated for making the film in small budget. That is inspiring for wannabe producers.
