The movie is directed by G Nageshwara Reddy who is known for making hit comedies. So this combination has created some interest among audiences. How has the film fared ?
Story:
Arjun (Vishnu) and Ashwin (Raj Tharun) are good friends. Arjun is son of a lawyer (Rajendra Prasad) who is very rich, while Ashwin is son of an ordinary SI (Posani). They meet Neelaveni (Sonarika) and Supriya (Hebbah) and fall in love. Upon knowing that Neelavani will only marry an orphan, Arjun tells her he has no parents or relatives and soon they get married to each at the registrar’s office.
Neelaveni likes a portion in a palatial bunglow and rents it from the owners who happen to be Arjun’s parents. When Arjun comes to know that she actually has rented their bungalow, he discourages her but she doesn't accept. Now he asks Ashwin to pretend as husband of Neelavani in front of his parents. Then confusion drama begins.
Artistes’ Performances:
Manchu Vishnu has earlier proved that he is at ease in doing comedies. This role that he has done is similar to what he did in some of his earlier movies. He is good. Raj Tharun is repeating the same act that he has been doing.
Sonarika has got a lengthy role, while Hebbah has nothing much to do but show her assets. The comedy involving Rajendra Prasad and Allari Ravi Babu is enjoyable. Satya Krishna and Posani are okay.
Technical Excellence:
The movie is shot with low production values. All the technical departments like cinematography, music, editing and artwork are pretty average.
Highlights:
- First Half
- Some comedy portions
- Glam show by heroines
Drawback:
- Second half
- Turns tedious after a time
- Predictable to the end
Analysis:
"Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam" is remake of a Punjabi hit movie. Given the movie's predictable storyline, one wonders what made the producers buy the remake rights as it is a mix of many Telugu movies.
The storyline of a hero posing as his friend and vice versa has widely been used in our movies. The comedy is generated when one hero enters into another hero's wife's room as it creates lot of confusion to other characters in the house.
The first half of the movie, though regular and predictable, works to some extent as it has good laughs.
The fun factor fades away the moment, the second half begins as the story lacks enough material to sustain interest.
Predictable drama continues till the end. The climax portions are totally bad. They are shot hurriedly. In the second half, it is Rajendra Prasad who rescues the film from becoming a bore. His suspicion about Sonarika and Raj Tharun has evoked some laughs.
There are also plenty of double-meaning dialogues. The director has shown both the heroines in glamorous way. Overall, it is a regular confusion comedy drama with pretty old screenplay and cliched scenes. Some scenes work, some don't.
There isn't much to talk about it or criticize it. A plain ordinary comedy movie.
Bottom-line: Comedy in bits!
