Story:
Rangayya Naidu (Nagendra Babu) is a man for all in a village. He witnesses the injustice caused for people in general. He decides to change the situation and fights for the cause. He too faces several ordeals in the process and loses his wife. Then he emerges as a leader (no-as a God) and accomplishes the mission to bring justice for all by killing the corrupted politicians and officers. How he acts like God and why he acts is the rest of the film.

Performances:
Nagababu turned a doll in Posani’s hands. He acted according to Posani’s wish. There is nothing to say about him except the thing that he reduced lot of weight.

Asmita is ok and there are a few scenes where she over-acted as per director’s wish.

Babu Mohan and Kota Shankara Rao are almost like ‘vidushakas’ in stage dramas. Their role as opposition party leaders is fully dramatic.

There is nothing to say about anything else in the movie. Camera work is ok and the graphics are used here and there.

Analysis:
Posani Krishna Murali has once again come up with his trade-mark satire (!) after ‘Operation Duryodhana’. While ‘Operation Duryodhana’ was a befuddled flick, ‘Apadamokkulavadu’ is more confused one. So, there is no big change. The confusion is there in story, screenplay, dialogue and everything.

Posani develops films basing only on current affairs and that was confirmed with ‘Operation Duryodhana’ itself. The current affairs touched by Posani in this flick are:

  • Chiranjeevi’s political entry
  • Poor standards in Government Hospitals
  • Mudigonda Issue
  • Questions regarding Existence of God
  • Opposition party leaders throwing cold water on ruling party
  • Filthy language of politicians in Assembly

Till interval the film appears to be a campaign for Chiranjeevi’s political entry. The word ‘Chiranjeevi’ is used several times in dialogues. Even the interval bang reads a paragraph where the word ‘Chiranjeevi’ is stressed and written in bold letters. A dialogue in the film says, “Chiranjeevi should enter politics as he has courage of YSR, foresight of Chandrababu and fighting spirit of BV Raghavulu”. Such direct dialogues may enthuse Chiranjeevi fans but on a whole the film is a dud. It doesn’t mean that the film loses commercially. For the minimum budget that is incurred on this film, chances are bright that the deposits would be recovered by promoting it with the hype stating that Chiranjeevi aspect is covered in it.

Posani didn’t throw mud on any politician directly but eulogized everyone. He tried to demonstrate the corruption among politicians and officers. He tried to show the poor conditions in Government Hospital. Instead of showing the hospital in dirty conditions he has shown the patients doing nauseate deeds. Posani cracked jokes on patients. That is an epitome of sadism.

Dirtiest Scenes in the film:
Hero cutting the penis of a villain and throwing it in a cold storage box
Hero’s wife asking hero to deliver her baby as his hand has already came out from her stomach
Nauseate deeds of patients in hospital
Drilling the iron bore in the heart of a person as a public demonstration
A lady using the words like ‘Lanj- Kod-ka’ and ‘bottu leni aada mundalam’
There is an item song by Udaya Bhanu which is pleasing for eyes of audiences.

Posani condemned about the filthy language used by politicians in Assembly. But he himself used the line ‘nee tuskidi lo naa puskidi’ with Hema in a scene. What does it mean? Is that not vulgar? Posani has no clarity of what he is doing in the film.

The film is almost like a poor stage drama. No quality in scenes, no clarity in dialogues, no conviction in narration and no screenplay at all.

Doubts and Bewilderment:

  • How Nagendra Babu appears like Lord Venkateshwara and disappears? (Answer: because he believed he is God)
  • Why Nagendra Babu didn’t die even though the police officers fire him when he was in Lord Venkateshwara’s get up? (Answer: because he believed he is God)
  • How Nagendra Babu survived despite shooting him with those many bullets in body? (Answer: because he is hero)
  • How villain (Srinu) survived despite piercing the sword in his belly in the way that it comes out the other way? (Answer: we should know that human body comprises only skin and blood in stomach area and nothing else)
  • Is ‘Apadamokkulavadu’ a social film or socio-fantasy or a fiction? (Answer: it’s a nightmare)

Bottom Line: Apadamokkulavadu is strict ‘No’ for children and ladies for the amount of vulgarity, violence and confusion in it.
