When asked about the kind of budgets incurred on the films in 1970s, Narayan Das said, "Yamagola was made with a budget of some Rs 30 lakh. NTR's remuneration at that time was less than Rs 1 lakh. He has given 30 call sheets for the film. That was a very big amount at that time but now there is no value for money".
