Legendary Tollywood actress Savitri named her daughter as Vijaya Chamundeshwari long ago. There is a reason for that. Savitri was introduced into films on Vijaya banner.
She used to have a very close friend called Chamundeshwari who helped her through out her career. Savitri likes her a lot and couldn't stay away from her. But once she got married to Gemini Ganesan things changed forcibly. Gemini Ganesan had got a feeling that Chamundeshwari was telling ill about his relations with other ladies to Savitri, and thereby spoiling their relation. He kicked Chamundeshwari out of the company of Savitri.
That made Savitri dull and worried. As a token of tribute to Vijaya banner and her friend Chamundeshwari, she named her newly born daughter as Vijaya Chamundeshwari later.
