Bhanumathi was known for her arrogance and high confidence. She lost many roles with her arrogance and Savitri picked them. It was the role of 'Missamma' that has come for Bhanumathi at first.
But the director didn't like her arrogant nature. He denied working with her and hence the shooting was stopped after the first schedule. The role was then given to Savitri and she excelled in that with her modesty on and off the screen. The film turned a massive hit and Bhanumathi got envious. She used to say that she left the role and Savitri picked that up. In one occasion she said that Savitri turned popular only because of her.
"Had I not left the role of Missamma for Savitri, she wouldn't have been famous at all", Bhanumathi said after the film released.
That was the range of Bhanumathi's arrogance.
