Venu Yeldandi, who gained recognition with the film Balagam, is now working on a new project titled Yallamma.
Similar to Kantara, the film is set against the backdrop of rural Telangana traditions and features a strong, rooted story.
Rumor has it that the story is loosely inspired by Shakespeare's Macbeth.
Initially, Nani was very interested in the script. However, having already committed to Dasara, another film with a Telangana backdrop, he politely declined, explaining that he didn’t want to take on a similar project so soon.
The makers then considered other actors for the lead role. Varun Tej's name was discussed, but the collaboration didn’t materialize due to certain issues. Teju Sajja was also approached, but that plan didn't move forward either.
Nithin was initially hesitant because he already had multiple projects lined up with the same banner, but eventually, he agreed to take on the role.
Nithin is currently preparing for the release of Tammudu and Robin Hood, and Yallamma will be his third film in the lineup.
In addition, producer Niranjan Reddy is in talks with Nithin and director Vikram K Kumar for another project, meaning Nithin's schedule is packed until 2025.
