Writer Padmabhushan is the first theatrical release for Suhas and the movie directed by Shanmukha Prashanth is turning out to be a hugely profitable venture for the makers.
The movie was made under the banners of Chai Bisket Films and Lahari Films with a budget of around 4 Cr, including print and publicity.
The digital and satellite rights alone fetched the makers more than their budget. Zee Network acquired the rights.
The movie which received a good talk post-release has collected over 5 Cr worldwide in 3 days.
The promotional strategy of holding early premiers also helped the movie big time.
Writer Padmabhushan is very impressive in urban centers and it is doing well overseas too. The movie reached the $200K mark so far.
The film was released on a commission basis. So, the makers hit a jackpot and pocket great profits. They are said to be getting good deals for remake rights too.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu watched Writer Padmabhushan and called it a heartwarming film. He also appreciated Suhas and the makers.
