Sai Dharam Tej’s Solo Brathuke So Better will be the first major Telugu film to release post coronavirus lockdown.
It’s been more than nine months since a notable film was released in theaters. SBSB is slated for release in theaters on Dec 25.
This is a huge risk as no one is sure about how the moviegoers respond to theatrical releases at this point of time.
SBSB makers could have opted for Sankranthi release as a couple other movies are also releasing during that time. But that wouldn’t give the movie to cash in on the advantage of release ahead of other films.
So, there is as much as gain as there is risk in coming out as the first film during corona times.
However, Zee studios will be bearing the entire risk as they bought total negative rights of the film including streaming rights. They can release the film online anytime given the response that it gets at the theaters.
Entire film industry is eagerly waiting to see how SBSB fares amid corona scare and restrictions on theatrical screening.
