Salman Khan's latest film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (KKBKKJ), has received a mixed response at the box office nationwide.
However, in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, disappointment has mixed with anger due to the way the iconic actor Venkatesh is presented in the movie.
A filmmaker states that the film has not been well received by the audience in Andhra Pradesh as Venkatesh's character appears midway through the film and is portrayed as a supporting actor.
It is suggested that Salman and his team did not understand the preferences of the South Indian audience.
The Telugu audience prefers to see their favorite stars in the lead role or at least in a parallel character to the lead.
Another criticism is that the lungi dance, which is featured in the movie, belongs to Tamil Nadu and not Telangana. This cultural mismatch also turned off the audience, as per a viewer.
"The story is outdated and the packaging is poor. We don't want anything less than 'great' to patronize," said a viewer.
So, in conclusion, there are many reasons why Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan underperformed at the box office.
