Why Allu Arjun's arrest getting political colour?

Why Allu Arjun's arrest getting political colour?

The arrest of popular Tollywood hero Allu Arjun by the Telangana police in connection with the death of a woman in a stampede at Sandhya Theatre earlier this month, during the premiere show of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule, has become sensational news across the country, not just in the Telugu states.

Surprisingly, the incident has taken on political overtones, despite being entirely related to a criminal case and having no direct connection to politics.

Yet, various political parties issued condemnations, while most popular Telugu film industry stars, barring a few, preferred to remain silent.

Several questions were raised on social media attributing political motives to Allu Arjun’s arrest.

Speculation arose that Revanth Reddy orchestrated the arrest out of spite, allegedly because he was upset with Allu Arjun for forgetting to mention his name during a success meet.

Another rumor suggested that Pawan Kalyan, reportedly disliking Allu Arjun, might have influenced Revanth Reddy through Chandrababu Naidu to have him arrested.

In Telangana, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) tried to gain political mileage by accusing Revanth Reddy of targeting a national award-winning superstar. But should the BRS oppose everything simply because Congress is in power? Should the BJP oppose it for similar reasons?

At one point, Bunny’s lawyer reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with a tweet by KTR. This raised a pertinent question: Should the opposition criticize everything Revanth Reddy does?

In this case, even the theatre owner, manager, and security in-charge were arrested. Why didn’t anyone raise their voices against these arrests?

Another section posed an interesting question: during the early days of Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure in 2014, a stampede at the Godavari Pushkaram resulted in deaths. Why wasn’t Naidu arrested for those deaths?

Many argue that a case should have been filed against Chandrababu Naidu for the deaths during the Pushkarams, and an inquiry should have been conducted. Some film personalities were also involved in that situation.

Similarly, when Nagarjuna’s N Convention Centre was demolished, why didn’t these voices speak out then? Why is the YSRCP opposing Bunny’s arrest?

Interestingly, YSRCP MP Niranjan Reddy, known for representing Jagan Mohan Reddy in legal matters, appeared as Bunny’s lawyer in this case to argue for bail.

Meanwhile, the TDP and Jana Sena have officially maintained silence on the issue. Even Allu Aravind has stayed away from politics for years, especially after the Praja Rajyam Party experiment and its eventual merger.

What logical reasons or analyses are being presented here? We’ll have to wait and see as more opinions surface. The story isn’t over yet.

Since Revanth Reddy approved the arrest, he is now bound to justify it. However, some opinions suggest the government didn’t need to treat this case so seriously. But wasn’t it this same government that allowed benefit shows, premiere screenings, and ticket rate hikes?

If there was genuine animosity or political intent toward Bunny, why grant those benefits? Or is there another underlying reason for Bunny’s arrest?

There are many such questions with varying answers. But that’s what politics is all about!
