Watching Movies In Theatres Is Our Culture: Sree Vishnu

The first name that comes to directors mind when they are attempting a unique or experimental concept is Sree Vishnu.

Raja Raja Chora is the next outing of the promising actor who will be seen as a smart thief.

Unlike the jovial kind of role, he played in the film, Sree Vishnu says he’s very calm-going in real life.

“We tried a different variation in this film. Humours scenes will be different with new modulation.”

While major sections loved the title and teaser of the movie, few raised objections over the title as they felt it dishonouring the popular king Raja Raja Chola.

Clarifying on this, Sree Vishnu says, “Few Tamils misinterpreted the title, as if we have dishonoured the Chola emperor Raja Raja The Great. There is nothing objectionable in the film and those who have doubts will get clarity on 19th.”

The actor says it takes 2 to 3 days for him to get into the skin of the character. “I usually don’t feel that comfortable initially, but as the shooting progresses, I don’t feel difficult in doing any act.”

Sree Vishnu gives the option of choosing heroines and other artists to his directors. “I don’t involve in casting of heroines or other actors. Incidentally, all the heroines worked for my films got best roles.”

He informs the film has a good story with a humour all through. “There will be no sperate track for comedy. Ladies, in particular will love this film. Gangavva played my friend and we have good number of scenes together.”

Sree Vishnu says Ravi Babu’s character is one of the major highlights of the film. “He played a cop and I’m a thief. It will be a cat and mouse game between us. You are going to see new Ravi Babu in the film. You can enjoy the movie along with your entire family members. It’s a new way of story-telling.”

The actor affirms director Hasith Goli is a good friend of him for 5 years. “He is like a family. He penned the story only for me.”

Raja Raja Chora got many lucrative offers for OTT, but the makers rejected all of them to release it in theatres only. Sree Vishnu indeed made interesting comments on OTT, before the pandemic.

“All the films released on OTT were actually made for theatres. I feel films meant for theatres should be released in big screens only. Somehow, there is a danger of decline in theatrical business. To give a push to the industry in these testing times, we refused all the fancy OTT offers to release it in theatres. I must thank my producers for waiting all these days to release the movie in theatres. In fact, watching movies in theatres is our culture.”

About his next projects, he says, “My next film Arjuna Phalguna is an adventure story set completely in a remote area. I’m also doing a cop biopic. I have 4-5 different variations in that film. I’m doing an innocent character in Bhala Thandanana.”

Sree Vishnu showed his kind heart by wishing all the best to other films releasing along with Raja Raja Chora.
