Director Shankar took to X.com to express his frustration with certain filmmakers using scenes from a Tamil novel for which he had purchased the rights.
Shankar stated that he acquired the rights to the novel Nava Yuga Nayagan Vel Paari, and was disturbed by the unauthorized use of key scenes from the book.
He mentioned that he recently noticed an important scene from the novel in a new movie trailer.
The recent trailers of major films include Superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan and NTR’s Devara.
Based on the content Shankar referred to, it appears he is upset about director Koratala Siva allegedly using scenes from the novel for Devara.
"I'm disturbed to see key scenes being ripped off and used without permission in many movies. Really upset to see an important key scene from the novel in a recent movie trailer," he wrote.
