Venky Atluri, the young director has made his presence felt in the industry with his first two films Toliprema and Mister Majnu.
He made Rang De as his third venture on a good banner that made the film with over the top budget. But still Venky failed to give a perfect movie. There is no unanimous positive talk for this film.
The biggest allegation on him is that he is making the same old 'Toliprema' again and again with little changes. There is no notable difference between each film he is doing.
Another complaint is that he is passing in distinction as the director but scoring just pass marks for his writing. There are no strong and impressive dialogues in his films. That is the need of the hour as the commercial films run on dialogue power be it emotional or humor.
Whatever the audience liked in Rang De are only the richness and colorful picturization. The credit goes to the producers and cinematographer but not the director. Had Venky worked harder on the dialogue and screenplay part, he would have scored a right hit.
At least, for his fourth film he should be able to show some contrast. He should think new and come out from his comfort zone. Otherwise, it will be difficult to stand in this competition.
