Viveka murder: Case against film producer, director!

The Pulivendula police in YSR Kadapa district have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against five individuals, including the producer and director of the Telugu film Hatya (Murder), which is based on the murder of former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy six years ago.

The case was filed based on a complaint by Sunil Yadav, one of the accused in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

Those named in the FIR include Hatya's writer and director Srividya Basawa and producer S Prashant Reddy, among others.

Sunil Yadav alleged that the film Hatya portrayed him and his mother in a derogatory and offensive manner.

The primary accused (A-1) in the FIR is Pawan Kumar, who is reportedly the admin of a WhatsApp group named ‘YS Avinash Anna Youth.’

The second accused is the admin of the YSRCP Kadapa social media group. In his complaint, Sunil Yadav stated that Pawan Kumar had been circulating scenes from Hatya in the YSRCP WhatsApp group, causing the clips to go viral.

He also informed the police that some suspicious individuals had been spotted near his residence, raising concerns about a potential threat to his life. In fact, a few days earlier, Sunil Yadav had approached the district SP to report his fears regarding his personal safety.

Following the complaint, the police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code related to cybercrime, including Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. Further investigation is underway.
