Vijay's latest film "Varisu" has been performing well at the box office, earning over Rs 210 crore in collections and still going strong.
Despite positive word of mouth, the film has faced criticism from some who have deemed the plot similar to a daily soap with a predictable storyline.
However, director Vamsi Paidipally has defended the film and emphasized that it is a family drama meant to connect with the masses. He also emphasized the hard work put in by the cast and crew.
The film is currently approaching Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office and is expected to continue to perform well. "Varisu" was produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations and features notable actors such as Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Yogi Babu, Srikanth Meka, and Shaam.
The music was composed by S Thaman, and most of the songs were chart-toppers.
