Gunasekhar's highly anticipated movie 'Shakuntalam' is facing last-minute troubles before its release.
Despite being scheduled to hit theaters next week, the distributor for the USA market has withdrawn from purchasing the rights.
The deal for the USA rights was initially proposed at Rs 4 Crore, but due to the lack of hype surrounding the project, the buyer has backed out.
Similarly, the Andhra rights were proposed to be sold at Rs 8 Crore, but so far, no buyers have shown interest.
Nonetheless, the film's producers plan to organize special screenings from the 11th of this month to generate buzz around the project.
Let's hope that Gunasekhar's sincere and noble intentions behind the film will be rewarded with success, and he will emerge victorious.
