RRR has shown its might at the box office in the first weekend.
But how big is that 'might'?
Obviously, RRR cannot be compared to any other film other than 'Bahubali-The Conclusion', the previous film by Rajamouli.
The figures at the USA Box Office are meticulous and cannot be manipulated. They are open to all as well.
Looking back, 'Bahubali- The Conclusion' collected US$ 4,598,336 from 423 locations with a location average of US$ 10871 on Friday.
But RRR surpassed the collection record on Friday collecting US $ 5,461,629 from 1160 locations, but with a Location Average of US $ 4709.
On Saturday 'Bahubali-the Conclusion' collected US$ 3,497,447 from 425 locations with a Location Average of US$ 8230.
In comparison, on Saturday RRR made US $2,406,822 from 1115 locations with a Location Average of US$ 2159.
On Sunday 'Bahubali-the Conclusion' collected US$ 2,334,714 from 425 locations with a Location Average of US$ 5494.
In comparison, on Sunday RRR made US $1,555,531 from 1065 locations with a Location Average of US$ 1461.
The difference in the number of locations and the Location Average should be noted here. The total collection of Saturday and Sunday are lesser than that of 'Bahubali-The Conclusion' which implies that it is not embraced as expected in spite of being a multi starrer.
The heavy difference in the Location Average between the two films is another major sign that RRR is not received on par with 'Bahubali-The Conclusion'.
This film could make this much noise on the first three days only because of the fans of both the heroes.
It is needless to say that the castes of the heroes also play a vital role among the large set of fans while patronizing big star films. Rajamouli also referred to this in an interview a few years ago.
Both Kamma and Kapu fans shouldered this film because of Jr NTR and Ram Charan being the protagonists.
Next in line for Rajamouli is the film by Mahesh Babu. So Mahesh fans are also silent in expressing their transparent views on this film.
Next in the list are Prabhas fans. They never let down Rajamouli's film as they show their gratitude for making their hero a National Star.
Same applies with the media which is divided between Kamma and Kapu. Both pushed the film on caste basis with biased promotions.
On the whole, RRR enjoyed this advantage. Rajamouli should understand that all this hype is for the casting and their castes but not for the content in the film.
He should take utmost care in writing the story and screenplay for Mahesh Babu's film. Because hype because of luck will not be the same always.
