Despite extensive promotion and a big release, Vijay Deverakonda's film did not perform well in theaters. The songs were unimpressive, and the trailers failed to pique interest. It's no surprise that premiere shows drew no big crowds.
"Liger," which was a huge disaster, grossed nearly half a million dollars during its premiere shows. Vijay Deverakonda's previous film, "Kushi," grossed a whopping $474k from premiere shows and a lifetime total of $1.8 million.
However, "The Family Star" only made $282k from its premiere shows. This demonstrates that the film's promotional material failed to pique audiences' interest.
