Naga Chaitanya’s “Thandel” experienced a sudden slowdown on Saturday and Sunday after a strong opening.
The film grossed over $400k on its first day, including premiere show collections, but struggled to maintain momentum on Saturday.
Sunday’s performance was even weaker, with collections failing to cross $100k. As a result, the film’s total first-weekend gross stood at just $650k.
Initially, the film’s strong opening indicated it could easily reach the $1 million mark by Monday. However, it now seems that Thandel might hit this milestone only after completing its first week.
The film’s mixed reviews contributed to its limited success. Moreover, the lack of a gripping second half dampened enthusiasm among younger audiences in the U.S.
