As part of the National Cinema Day campaign, all theaters screened movies for $3 on Saturday.
The move has helped the Telugu films immensely at the USA box office. While “Karthikeya 2” took advantage, other films also gained.
New releases like “Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga” and “First Day First Show” would not have posted a respectable number if not for the $3 campaign on Saturday.
“Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga” grossed more than $50k that day, while “FDFS” collected $10k. Still, both the films bombed at the box office.
