Kavya Maran, the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), was trending on the internet after the franchise was crushed in the IPL finals by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday.
SRH performed well in the league stage but faltered in the playoffs and the finals. Interestingly, the Hyderabad team lost all three encounters with KKR this season.
Kavya was visibly upset after the match, and her reaction was widely shared on social media platforms.
Cameras have been capturing her mood swings since 2018, after she took over the reins of SRH. Her expressive reactions and million-dollar smile soon earned her the title of 'national crush.'
Kavya Maran also owns 'Sunrisers Eastern Cape,' a cricket franchise that plays in the South Africa 20 tournament (SA20).
Unlike SRH, the Eastern Cape team has clinched the SA20 title twice since the tournament's inauguration in 2022.
Apart from managing these cricket franchises, Kavya oversees multiple operations of the Sun Group.
With a net worth of over Rs 19,000 crore, her father, media baron Kalanithi Maran, topped the TN IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List in 2019.
Meanwhile, Kavya Maran's net worth is reportedly around $50 million, approximately Rs 409 crores.
