Trade Talk: Horrible Situation Of Two New Films

The three films released during Diwali turned out to be massive hits, surprising even seasoned producers like Dil Raju, who stated that he hadn’t seen such success in his 30-year career.

However, this momentum quickly faded as the three films released after Diwali flopped.

Nikhil’s Appudo Ippudo Eppudo was so poorly promoted that most people didn’t even know it had released. Despite the makers’ claims that word-of-mouth would save it, the film declared disaster on its opening day itself.

This week, Matka and Kanguva hit the screens, but both failed to make an impact.

The trade expected at least one to perform decently, but neither is expected to survive until the weekend. Varun Tej’s Matka was declared a flop after a disastrous Friday. It performed poorly in all major centers, including Hyderabad, Warangal, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

Kanguva faced similar challenges, struggling to secure screens in Nizam on release day. Although screen count improved, the damage was done and its prospects in Andhra Pradesh remain weak.

Next week, four films, including Vishwak Sen’s Mechanic Rocky and Satyadev’s Zebra, are set for release. We have to see how they will perform.

After that the mania will be for 'Pushpa 2' reelasing on December 5th.
