2020 seems to be a maiden over for Tollywood with no films to make or release on the pitch of theatres.
No film has seen the light of theatre after March 13th. The situation is very grim and the big producers like Suresh Babu and Allu Aravind are in an opinion that the theatres cannot be opened till the end of this year. If that is the case, then many of the theatres will be closed for sure.
Producers also have to face the financial heat if they keep their films unreleased for entire year.
Despite the OTT platforms are giving win-win offers, the producers like Dil Raju are not going ahead. When asked, their offices are saying that the big producers are not taking hasty decisions with regard to the direct OTT release as it may affect the morale of small producers.
Though the answer seems to be partly true, one has to accept the truth that some of the big producers are still hoping that the situation will be favorable at theatres at least from September onwards.
Many of the small films those are about to go to shoot are getting cancelled. Many producers and directors are going into direct contact with OTT heads to make content as per their budgets and requirements.
Year 2020 seems to take a different way altogether with respect to the movie industry.
