Top Director Faces Setback as Producers Back Away

Shankar, once regarded as one of the top filmmakers in South India and commanding a ₹50 crore remuneration, now finds himself in a difficult situation, with no producers willing to back his projects.

Lyca Productions suffered heavy losses by producing multiple films with him, including "Indian 2" and "Indian 3," the latter still awaiting release. Similarly, Dil Raju faced financial setbacks by producing "Game Changer."

In the Tamil film industry, there is now an undeclared ban on Shankar, as many producers consider working with him too risky. As a result, he is struggling to secure funding for his dream project, "Velpari," a period film based on a Tamil novel.

The project requires a massive budget, but given his recent setbacks, no producer is willing to take the financial risk.
