Aamir Khan's most extravagant project "Laal Singh Chaddha '' has seen the light of the projector but the result went into darkness. The film has experienced dull openings and disaster talk.
Much to the shock, ace hero Akhsya Kumar's 'Raksha Bandhan' also toppled at the box office.
This is like an earthquake in Bollywood when the two massive films of top stars bite the mud without any pre release buzz and post release patronage.
To save the skin, the failure of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' is attributed to the 'boycott' controversy running against Aamir Khan for making a statement earlier that 'intolerance is rising in India'.
To this top critic Taran Adarsh replied- "..a film rich in merit can withstand 'boycott' and any opposition in the form of exams, IPL matches and bad weather. 'Laal Singh Chaddha'...was devoid of merit. The stars are still sleeping".
That's in fact a warning bell for the entire Bollywood community. There is a huge criticism on the kind of films Bollywood is making with the outdated stuff and take-it-for-granted storylines.
The irony is Nikhil Siddharth, a mid range hero from Tollywood received better patronage with his dubbed version of 'Karthikeya2' in Hindi coming along with Aamir's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and Akshay Kumar's 'Raksha Bandhan'. Bollywood lost its sheen and it is at its worst phase as of now.
