Top 5: Kantara Dominates Regional Market

1. Kantara: The film has been rocking in the theatres even after the second week of release. Imported from the Kannada film industry, this captivating narrative by Rishab Shetty created new records with regard to the budget and return on investment.

The film runs in multiple genres with eerie and mystique concepts and ending up with a dash of divinity. The collections are impressive when compared to the other films in the league.

On a whole the film grossed the collection of Rs 170 Cr at the Indian box office.

2. Sardar: The film starring Karthi and Raashi Khanna impressed many audiences and this proved to be the best among the new releases with regard to collections.

PS Mithran directed the film and it is an import from Tamil Film Industry. The film deals with the differences between the beliefs of son and father. The dual role of Karthi made all the difference in this engaging narrative.

The talk has been good and it bagged Rs 20 Cr from both Tamil and Telugu so far. This film is termed as a hit among the Diwali releases this week.

3. Ori Devuda: This film by Ashwath Marimuthu is also an imported story from Tamil film industry 'Oh My Kadavule'. Daggubati Venkatesh, Vishwaksen, Mithila Palkar and Asha Bhat played the main leads.

4. Prince: KV Anudeep of Jathi Ratnalu fame came up with this film casting Sivakathikeyan,  Maria and Satyaraj in the main roles.

The film runs on the lines of a silly but funny narrative , considering nothing serious in the entire story. This is a perfect lighter vein film and can be enjoyed shunning all the logic and subtleties.

Collections are ok for this film with Rs 17 Cr on a whole both in Tamil and Telugu. This film too is coated with Tamil flavor right from starcast to ambience.

5. Godfather: This is another imported story from Kerala, remade with Chiranjeevi in the main lead.

The collections in theatres have almost come to an end and this week this film sits in this position as majority of the other films released targeting Diwali are mid range films with not much local flavor.

It should be noted that the impact of Kantara was felt on the second week collections of this film.
