The trend of multilingual releases with dubbed dates has picked up in recent times but sometimes it can lead to friction.
Kannada’s big hero ‘Challenging Star’ Darshan was all set to arrive with his big budget flick ‘Roberrt’ on March 11th even in Telugu but now it appears Tollywood has applied brakes to it.
Reports reveal the Telugu industry has asked ‘Roberrt’ team to defer their release by 1-2 weeks as few Telugu releases are lined up on that date.
It is heard that this has not gone too well with Darshan who has brought it to the notice of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.
His team has also pointed out how Karnataka welcomes other language film releases along with theirs.
From his end, Darshan has reportedly maintained that as a big star he can manage but this move will certainly affect the younger heroes who would have spent a lot on their release so it must be resolved amicably.
It remains to be seen how the Telugu industry will deal with it.
