Pawan Kalyan spoke the mind of every businessman and rather the mind of every producer who makes big-ticket films with star heroes.
The basic demand and supply concept was explained by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan today while giving permission to hike up the ticket prices for Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and directed by S. Shankar.
Pawan Kalyan said, "By hiking ticket prices, the government gets better GST in return. In a way, it is good for the economy. The previous government didn't allow ticket price increases. We are not like that."
He also added, "We are not the people who expect film heroes to come and salute us. Ticket prices are related to producers, not heroes."
In his address, he stressed that there is nothing wrong with raising ticket prices based on demand and supply. If that is the case, why should producers have to come to the government with requests?
Why should a government order (GO) be released to permit ticket price hikes? Why can't the government allow producers to operate according to demand and supply without government involvement, especially when they are already paying GST?
Is Pawan Kalyan expecting producers, and not heroes like himself, to come and salute him every time they request ticket price hikes? When he supports something, he should do that unconditionally.
Holding the power to release a GO concerning ticket price hikes is a hypocrisy while advocating for a free market based on demand and supply.
