Hero Venkatesh whose last film Naarappa was released on OTT will have another direct digital release with Drushyam 2. The sequel was directed by Jeethu Joseph who helmed the original Malayalam version.
Venkatesh says there will always be a fear while doing sequels. “Drushyam was appreciated by so many people, because it’s a different character for me to play in a crime genre.
Jeethu Joseph came up with wonderful script for Drushyam 2. It will be much more engaging, exciting and thrilling.”
About his character, “Rambabu’s only goal is to protect his family. No matter what happens, he is going to see whether his family and children are safe. He doesn’t care whether it’s right or wrong.”
Venkatesh informs, they didn’t make many changes in the script. “There are 3 to 4 new scenes, otherwise we kept the original as it is.”
The actor doesn’t find fault in going for OTT release. “Family audience are still hesitating to come out to theatres. So, makers have decided what is correct. I did my job and leave it.”
Venkatesh says his director has plans to make Drushyam 3, but it may take at least three years for him to come up with something new for the third instalment.
He is presently doing F3 with Anil Ravipudi. “Climax portions of F3 are currently being filmed. We are planning for summer release. It will be thoroughly entertaining and movie buffs will have blast in theatres.”
Venky also informs he is preparing himself for Netflix original where he will be working alongside his nephew Rana.
