The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a ticket price hike for the upcoming film Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya.
This decision comes after the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh High Courts recently expressed concerns about abnormal ticket prices and midnight shows.
In response to the court’s remarks, the Andhra Pradesh government has permitted a limited price hike—an increase of ₹50 for single screens and ₹75 for multiplexes, applicable only for the first week.
Producer Allu Aravind stated that Thandel is the most expensive film of Naga Chaitanya’s career, which is why the team requested a ticket price hike. However, the government did not approve any extra shows.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government has decided not to increase ticket prices.
Producers in Telangana have also opted not to request a price hike, and BookMyShow has already started selling tickets at regular rates.
