They believe that if Revanth Reddy is keen on celebrating Gaddar’s legacy, the award should be dedicated to folk singers rather than film personalities.

Traditionally, film awards are named after symbols like lions, elephants, or peacocks—neutral emblems of excellence. However, naming an award after a political or cultural figure with no cinematic background raises concerns.

In response, the Telugu Film Chamber has taken decisive action. Moving forward, they decided to establish their own awards, independent of state influence.
February 6, celebrated as the birthday of Telugu cinema, will now be marked by industry-led awards, ensuring autonomy in recognizing talent.
With this, the TFI has diluted the importance of Gaddar Awards. They don't say 'no' to those awards, but don't value much.
By organizing grand events and forming their own jury, the industry aims to maintain control over its recognition system.
The Film Chamber believes that this approach will safeguard the prestige of Telugu cinema from political interventions, ensuring that awards remain a true celebration of cinematic excellence rather than a tool for political agendas.
