Unlike other industries, the Telugu film industry came back strongly, after covid. Besides, high-budget movies, small to medium-range movies with good content have succeeded at the box office.
In fact, people are keen on watching movies with unique stories, rather than regular commercial potboilers. In the last couple of years, Tollywood delivered some sensational hits.
Interestingly, the success rate is good for moderate-budget movies. Meanwhile, a Tamil producer lauds the Telugu film industry.
Producer SR Prabhu made an interesting remark that the era of superstars is over in the film business and every star has his own market share.
“The era of one superstar is over in film business. Every star has his own market share and for each film, the value varies based on release date, content, combination, competition, etc.,
The industry which understands this start to support each other, uplift the whole market and expand beyond boundaries. Recent best example is Telugu industry.
The stars, trade & fans in respective industries also have to understand this. I also hope this becomes a new norm everywhere and the whole Indian film industry rise to the best of standards including the trade & fans.”
This statement receives mixed responses. While some accept the producer’s statement, few others deny him.
