Director Anil Ravipudi has clarified that there is no item song in “Sarileru Neekevvaru”.
The song “Daang Daang” that featured Tamannah is not an item number, he stressed. According to him, it is a party song and he inspired by an NDTV program.
NDTV airs a show called ‘Jai Jawan’ during Independence Day every year. The channel takes famous movie celebrities to the army camps and makes them interact with the army jaawans.
Celebrities also dance and party with the soldiers. Inspired by this program, Anil Ravipudi has included this special song. According to him, Tamannah will appear in the song as a movie star.
Mahesh Babu is playing an army major in the movie. Though it is a special song, Anil Ravipudi doesn’t want to term it as an item number.
Tamannah took a hefty paycheck for this dance number.
