Popular anchor Suma Kanakala is known for her spontaneity and jovial nature. However, it’s surprise to see her in a serious role in her comeback film Jayamma Panchayathi.
The film’s director Vijay Kumar Kalivarapu wanted to make the movie with all newcomers with a limited budget.
“I wanted an actor who is very fresh to play the character. I initially felt, Suma is not the right choice, considering her fun-loving nature.
Nonetheless, Suma proved me wrong with her acting prowess. She is a quick learner and she can perform anything effortlessly, as an actor. Now, I couldn’t imagine any actor, other than Suma in the character.”
He further says, they shot the movie with synch-sound technology and Suma learnt the slang before the shoot, as to utter her lines flawlessly.
MM Keeravani scored music for the film.
“The four songs in the movie are situational Keeravani provided beautiful tunes. He gave nod to the project, only after listening to the script.”
About the film’s core point, Vijay says, “How an ordinary, yet tough women fight for justice with entire village forms crux of the story.”
The film Jayamma Panchayathi will be releasing in theatres on May 6th.
