Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated collaboration with pan-India superstar Prabhas, Spirit, is set to commence filming early next year.
Ahead of the shoot, the makers are finalizing a stellar cast, reportedly including big names from the Hindi film industry.
According to a Pinkvilla report, Vanga is in talks with Mrunal Thakur for the female lead role opposite Prabhas.
Simultaneously, discussions are ongoing with real-life couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor for key antagonist roles in the film.
"Spirit is one of the most ambitious and awaited films in Indian cinema, and the makers are pulling out all the stops to onboard the best and most talented actors from across the globe," the report states.
Prabhas is confirmed to play the role of a cop, while Mrunal, Saif, and Kareena are being considered for pivotal roles, with the latter two expected to bring a dramatic negative edge to the story.
The film promises to be a game-changer in the cop-action thriller genre. Vanga aims to redefine the way such films are crafted in India, making Spirit unlike anything audiences have seen before.
"The script and prep work are in full swing, and those who have heard the narration reveal that Vanga plans to reintroduce Prabhas in a groundbreaking avatar," adds the report.
There are also rumors of South Korean actor Don Lee being part of the project, though no official confirmation has been made.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series in collaboration with Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit is slated for a 2026 release in multiple national and international languages.
