For his upcoming film (#SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu), he will receive an even larger stake than before.
In “RRR,” both NTR and Ram Charan were paid equally and also received a share of the profits, which slightly reduced Rajamouli’s portion.
However, since “SSMB29” features only one hero—Mahesh Babu—Rajamouli is set to receive a bigger share of the business.
With Rajamouli’s international fame, the OTT rights for the film are expected to break records for Indian cinema.
The overseas rights will also bring in massive revenue, with other revenue streams and theatrical business likely reaching hundreds of crores.
As a result, the budget will significantly increase, along with Rajamouli's stake in the profits.
The film is a globe-trotting action thriller, inspired by two of Wilbur Smith’s English novels, and regular shooting is set to begin in January 2025.
