In director Trivikram's stories, the roles of mother or maternal aunt are important. Nadiya appeared in "Attarintiki Daaredi" as the hero's maternal aunt. In "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo", Tabu played the mother's role.

The hero of the film is Mahesh Babu. The heroines are Pooja Hegde and Sreeleela. However, the casting for this central female character has yet to be determined.
