Netflix, the OTT giant that has been ruling the world, has seen the biggest hit on its platform.
The series in 'Squid Game' and a report says that it is now worth Rs 6770 Cr (more than USD900 Million) based on the viewers watched.
The total investment made on making this series is roughly USD 22 Million (Rs 160 Cr) as per a source, but the pull factor it generated is enormous.
Inside sources from Netflix say that this series helped the platform not only in retaining the interest of the existing subscribers but also gaining many new patrons.
As per an inside report about 132 million had watched at least two minutes of the show in the first 23 days breaking the previous records. Out of this 89% watched more than one episode and 66% of the viewers finished watching the series in the first 23 days.
That proves the hook factor of the show making it a super hit.
The above details were revealed by Bloomberg to which the attorney for Netflix expressed that it would be inappropriate for Bloomberg to disclose these figures digging the internal documents.
This is the first Korean drama to occupy the top slot in the US streaming and surprisingly many started to learn Korean language with the influence of this series.
