The Active Producers' Guild has started the process of cutting down the remunerations of heroes.
A five member committee is working on this purpose. But as per the reliable sources the committee is not touching the top six heroes. Well, who are those heroes?
As per the Active Producers' Guild Prabhas, Bunny. Mahesh Babu. NTR, Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan are the top six heroes who are given the special status with regard to remuneration. No one knows why Megastar is not there in this list.
The target of the Guild is on the Tier-2 heroes like Nani, Ravi Teja, Saidharam Tej. Varun Tej, Naga Chaitanya etc.
Because Ravi Teja's remuneration is Rs 18 Cr, Nani's is Rs 15 Cr, Sai Dharam is in Rs 8 Cr bracket and the list continues. So, first the Producers' Guild is planning to slash the remunerations of these heroes.
Similarly the top directors like Rajamouli, Trivikram and Sukumar are not going to be touched. The other directors will be in the target range of the Producers' Guild.
Almost all the members in the Guild are making films with Top six heroes and the directors. So they are not touching their parties but only focusing on the others.
Whatever it is, many are cracking jokes that the Guild has no power to control the remuneration of anybody and ultimately the film industry runs on the dictatorship of heroes and the senior character artistes though they are not in any so called Top 6 list.
Moreover many are saying that this is not a Corporate Company to follow the rules set by others. The producers though appear to be united as a Guild, will have their own agenda while giving remuneration to the heroes and they secretly meet the demands of every hero they work with.
We have to see if these actions by the Producers' Guild make any difference against the popular belief or end up as a mere joke.
