Small Films to Get First Priority for Release

Small Films to Get First Priority for Release

It is now certain that the lockdown period will be extended until April 30. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make an official statement after consulting Chief Ministers on Saturday.

So, Tollywood would be losing the entire month of April for the releases during the key summer season.

If the theaters start screening movies in May, the Telugu film industry wants to test the pulse of the public by releasing small-budgeted movies first.

Biggies like Nani’s “V”, Ravi Teja’s “Krack” and Pawan Kalyan’s “Vakeel Saab” will hit the screens later in June or July.

There is a perception that people may not flock to the theaters even after easing of the lockdown due to apprehensions about large gatherings.

So, the best way of opening the theaters is with small movies like “Uppena”, “Oregy Bujjiga”.

Even if the theaters open only in June, this method is likely to be followed.
