For Dabboo Ratnani's annual celebrity photoshoot, Vidya Balan decided to shake things up and ditched her usual sarees and her entire wardrobe.
The Internet, however, is struggling to handle it. Vidya, who is usually adored for her girl-next-door persona, stars in what is probably the most suggestive photo of the year.
The photo features Vidya with a newspaper in one hand and a mug in the other, but this was not your ordinary morning ritual.
Wearing heels and sunglasses, Vidya appears to be unclothed behind the newspaper.
It's a fun and unexpected photo, mainly because it's Vidya Balan, but the comments section has exploded and not in a good way.
Several trolls referenced Vidya's film, The Dirty Picture, which was based on the life of South actress Silk Smitha. Others were rude about the newspaper, while some made jokes about forgetting one's clothes.
This year, Dabboo Ratnani has photographed the usual suspects - from Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. He has also photographed some newer faces, like Shehnaaz Gill.
Vidya Balan is best known for her acclaimed work in films such as Parineeta, Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, Kahaani, Guru, Paa, and of course, The Dirty Picture.
Her credits also include the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Mission Mangal, and Begum Jaan.
Her recent film releases include the biopic Shakuntala Devi and the well-received Sherni. Vidya has two upcoming projects, one of which is titled Neeyat.
