Shashtipoorthi is the title of a family drama starring Nata Kireeti Rajendra Prasad and yesteryear National Award winner Archana in lead roles. The couple from the 1986 movie 'Ladies Tailor' is back to share screen space after more than 38 years.
The film's Glimpse was released today. The plot involves an estranged couple. Rajendra Prasad plays a misunderstood husband, while Archana is shocked to learn something unknown about him. Their son is a divorce lawyer with a negative social image. He resolves to reunite his parents. Rupeysh Choudhary (also the film's producer besides being its lead) plays the son's role, while Akanksha Singh plays his love interest.
The film attempts to touch upon some cultural themes in a traditional setting.
Archana herself is making a comeback to the Telugu silver screen after a gap of three decades. Hers is a emotional and relatable role in the movie, director Pavan Prabha said.
Maestro Ilayaraja's music is going to be a soothing feature of the movie. MM Keeravani, himself a music icon, has penned a song in Shashtipoorthi. Chaitanya Prasad has penned the other songs.
'Padma Sri' Thota Tharani has done the Art direction. Prabhas Sreenu, Chalaki Chanti, Chakrapani Ananda, Achyut Kumar, Muralidhar Goud, Jabardasth Ram, and others have played different roles.
