Actors or actresses never get freedom to do anything they like out of personal interest or by professional demand. Sometimes they face the wrath of the people for portraying a character that hurts their sentiments.
Now Samantha Akkineni is facing such trouble from the people of Tamil Nadu.
It is known that the web series "Family Man-2" that is set to release on June 4th is not going well with the Tamil audience as it has some anti Tamil Eelam elements. They have also demanded a ban on the series. But as nothing is getting stopped they started trending the hashtag #ShameOnYouSamantha.
Even the Tamil Nadu government has requested the ban on the series to the I and B Ministry in the interest of the Tamil sentiments.
However, this web series is getting huge publicity with this row and the makers must be enjoying the attention. On the other hand, never know when and how such hurt sentiments backfire.
Manoj Bajpayee, the main lead in the series has decently escaped the question on this controversy saying that the show was created by a team dominated by Tamilians, including the actors Priyamani and Samantha Akkineni, and writer Suman, who have great regard for the Tamil culture. Now Samantha Akkineni, the born Tamil actress is facing trouble.
We have to see how it ends. Only after the release of the series will it be known if the sentiments of Tamilians are really hurt.
