The film Veera Simha Reddy is released today. The scenes are full of bloodshed with hunting axes and daggers.
The heads fell off the neck and rolled on the ground twice. The bloodshed is immense. The cusswords are perennial with no beeps.
Above all this, the highlight is the rape scene of the wife in front of the husband. At the same time, the stabbing in the heart is a bigger highlight. Even with all these, the film could get U/A certificate from the Censor Board.
Nobody has a clue how the Censor Board in Hyderabad functions. There were incidents when the Board called for cuts for a mere navel or a cleavage show for small films. But the big films like these seem to be immune to such treatment. People are in fact curious to know how the CBFC works.
"The rules used to be strictly implemented when Dhanalakshmi was heading the Censor Board. Now the things are manageable somehow or other", said an insider not going into the details.
A thorough probe or a sting operation may be done in this regard. Or else the purpose of CBFC will be totally defeated.
