Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya are the films coming up for this Sankranthi. The advance bookings are happening in a big way creating new records all over the USA.
As per 7 Am IST today, While Veera Simha Reddy bagged US$357,078 from 490 shows of 217 locations, Watair Veerayya garnered US$302,581 from 428 shows of 196 locations.
Veera Simha Reddy sold out 18330 tickets while Waltair Veerayya sold 15359 tickets by then. At the end they may show that both the films did US$ 500,000 collections for premieres.
It should be underlined that God Father made a collection of US$ 318,233 finally for premieres while Akhanda made US$ 331,803 (in spite of Boyapati-Balayya combination).
But here, as there is tug of war between both the films for release at a time, the collections are steeply increasing on both sides.
But here is the twist. Many of the caste fanatics of both the films are booking the tickets in bulk to create artificial hype as well as fake records. They consider it as a donation for their favorite actor's pride.
Once the audience enters the theatre they may not wonder looking at many vacant seats. Because, the bulk tickets are booked for pride but not to fill in with people.
On the other hand, there may be cancellation of several tickets a few minutes before the show as the complete amount gets refunded.
The actual collection of the premieres will be known only after a few hours of the completion of the shows. Only then the record should be underlined and kept in record.
All the numbers before that should be taken with a pinch of salt.
