Sankranthiki Vasthunam Knocks Down Waltair Veerayya

Sankranthiki Vasthunam, starring Venkatesh in the lead role, has emerged as a massive success for Tollywood in 2025.

Released with moderate expectations, the film has exceeded all predictions, achieving remarkable milestones.

Recently, it became Venkatesh’s first film to cross the ₹200 crore mark. Now, in its latest feat, it has surpassed Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya to become the fourth highest-grossing Sankranti release at the worldwide box office.

This year’s Sankranti witnessed a three-way clash at the box office, with Game Changer and Daaku Maharaaj competing alongside Sankranthiki Vasthunam.

Despite tough competition, the Venkatesh starrer surprised everyone by outperforming its rivals and delivering substantial profits for distributors and producers.

After completing 14 days in theaters, the film earned ₹2.75 crore on its 14th day, bringing its total domestic net collection to ₹159.75 crore, according to Sacnilk.

The gross domestic collection, including taxes, now stands at ₹188.50 crore. Overseas, the film has been a significant success, grossing ₹32.10 crore so far.

With a combined domestic and overseas gross, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has amassed an impressive ₹220.60 crore worldwide in just two weeks. The film is well on track to surpass the ₹250 crore mark before the end of its theatrical run.

By reaching ₹220.60 crore gross, the Venkatesh starrer has overtaken Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya (₹220.16 crore) to secure the fourth spot among the highest-grossing Sankranti releases in Tollywood.

It is also set to surpass Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru (₹225.06 crore) to claim the third position, likely by tomorrow.
