Samantha Ruth Prabhu showed remarkable strength while filming for Citadel Honey Bunny despite her diagnosis of the autoimmune disorder myositis.
In a recent interview, Samantha revealed that she had asked filmmakers Raj and DK to cast someone else in the series, feeling unsure if she could meet the physical demands of the role.
She even suggested other actors who could take her place.
“I begged them to move on because I really didn’t think I could do it. I wasn’t well and even sent them names of other heroines who would be great for the role,” Samantha said in her conversation with Galatta India.
However, after watching herself on the show, she expressed her gratitude for pushing through.
“I’m thankful they didn’t replace me and that I found the strength to complete it. No matter the verdict, I’m proud of myself for pulling through,” she added.
At the Citadel Honey Bunny trailer launch, her co-star Varun Dhawan praised her determination.
He shared, “Witnessing Samantha overcome her challenges was truly inspirational. She taught us all about resilience and strength.”
Citadel Honey Bunny, a spin-off of the American spy-action series Citadel, is set to premiere on November 7.
