Following the controversy surrounding Adipurush, Prabhas is poised for a comeback in Prashant Neel's Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.
Despite enticing fans with numerous posters and a trailer, the film's makers recently disclosed its release date. However, a clash at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki, slated for December 21, looms on Christmas.
The producers encountered a setback when the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) assigned an 'Adult' certificate to the film.
In a recent interview, Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Productions expressed the team's disappointment with the CBFC's decision.
Kiragandur revealed that they had anticipated a U/A certificate to attract a family audience. He acknowledged the evolving rules after discussions with CBFC officials, eventually accepting the 'Adult' rating.
Drawing a parallel with Animal, he highlighted director Prashant Neel's initial resistance to suggested cuts but later opted for the 'A' certificate to preserve crucial scenes integral to character development.
Despite their initial dismay, the team found solace in feedback from exhibitors and distributors, who deemed the 'Adult' certification potentially advantageous.
Kiragandur emphasized that the awareness of changing censoring rules contributed to their reassurance. Looking ahead, he stated, "I think in the current scenario, it's okay."
Post-Salaar, Prabhas is set to feature in Kalki 2898 AD alongside Deepika Padukone, directed by Nag Ashwin. The star-studded cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, among others.
